California Scrub-Jay

The California Scrub-Jay is a clever and resourceful bird found in woodlands, shrublands, and suburban areas throughout the western United States. Known for their sharp intelligence, Scrub-Jays can keep track of thousands of hidden food locations and will often move their caches if they think another bird has spotted them. Their striking blue and gray plumage makes them easily recognizable as they hop along the ground or perch boldly on tree branches.
